DIATOMACEOUS EARTH/ REACTIVE SILICA/ DIATOMITE/KIESELGUHR

We are biggest manufacturer of Fresh water Diatomaceous earth/Reactive Silica/kieselguhr in India. Over current capacity for Diatomaceous earth/Reactive Silica/kieselguhr is 6000 Ton per month.

Light-coloured, porous, and friable sedimentary rock composed of the frustrules (silicate cell walls) of diatoms. It is used in industrial filtration applications; as a filler or extender in paper, paint, brick, tile, ceramics, linoleum, plastic, soap, detergent, and other products; in insulation for boilers, blast furnaces, and other high-temperature devices; as a sound insulator; and as a carrier for herbicides and fungicides. The oldest and best-known commercial use is as a very mild abrasive in metal polishes and toothpaste.

Diatomaceous earth/Reactive Silica also known as diatomite or kieselgur, is a naturally occurring, soft, siliceous sedimentary rock that is easily crumbled into a fine white to off-white powder.

Diatomaceous earth/Reactive Silica consists of fossilized remains of diatoms, a type of hard-shelled algae. It is used as a filtration aid, as a mild abrasive, as a mechanical insecticide, as an absorbent for liquids, as cat litter, as an activator in blood clotting studies, and as a component of dynamite. As it is also heat-resistant, it can be used as a thermal insulator.

Application

Mild abrasion

The oldest use of diatomite is as a very mild abrasive and, for this purpose, it has been used both in toothpaste and in metal polishes, as well as in some facial scrubs.

Filtration:-

Diatomaceous earth/Reactive Silica/kieselguhr is as a filter medium, especially for swimming pools. The powder is fine enough to observe tiny particles out of the water as it's passed through. It has a high porosity, because it is composed of microscopically-small, coffin-like, hollow particles.
Diatomaceous earth is used in chemistry as a filtration aid, to filter very fine particles that would otherwise pass through or clog filter paper. It is also used to filter water, particularly in the drinking water treatment process and in fish tanks, and other liquids, such as beer and wine. It can also filter syrups, sugar, and honey without removing or altering the color, taste, or nutritional properties of any of them.Other industries such as paper, paints, ceramics, soap and detergents use it as a fulling material.

Cat / pet litter

Flea Control: Fleas are susceptible to Diatomaceous earth/Reactive Silica/kieselguhr. Dump it on the pets' bedding or anywhere they like to hang out, and apply throughout the house. You can also rub it into your pet's fur to kill fleas at the source.

Agricultural applications

Natural freshwater diatomaceous earth is used in agriculture for grain storage as an anticaking agent, as well as an insecticide.
It is also used as a neutral anthelmintic (dewormer). Some farmers add it to their livestock and poultry feed to improve the health of animals. It is acceptable as organic feed additive for livestock.

Insecticide

Pest Control: Diatomaceous earth/Reactive Silica/kieselguhr is used as an insecticide, it can kill the insects, The fine powder absorbs lipids from the waxy outer layer of insects' exoskeletons, causing them to dehydrate. Apply Diatomaceous earth/Reactive Silica/kieselguhr lightly around their nests and trash cans area where insects gather. Insects cannot develop immunity to this treatment.

Protecting Grain:

To keep pests out of stored grain, mix in some Diatomaceous earth. It is harmless to humans and animals, can eat it without any adverse effects, but too much of anything can be unpleasant.

Pets:

Our best friends come in all shapes and sizes. Protect them with Diatomaceous Earth. When lightly rubbed into their coats or dusted on their premises, it is very effective against fleas, ticks, lice, and other pests on pet dogs, cats, and birds. It can also be used as an organic wormer and will kill any worms or parasites the pets may have.
